Germany 2019
We've taken many exploration ships to remote parts of the world, but this was our first river cruise. We joined friends Jack and Chris Halbert to cruise along the Rhine and Mosel Rivers for 9 days. We stopped at several cities to take brief tours, to bike and walk, and enjoy the local food and wine. It was a very relaxing trip. We travelled on the River Queen, with Uniworld. The ship was beautiful and the service was outstanding. We were challenged every day to not over eat because the food was amazing. The trip was also special because for two days prior to boarding we spent time with Klaus and Tanja Fischer, who hosted us. Klaus, a second cousin, has helped me to learn more about my biological father who was killed in WWII. We had the good fortune of a chance meeting with the Fischer family (my birth name) in the small community of Dickscheid where I was able to learn more about my father's family.
