Tigers in India
The photo was taken at the Delhi train station where it was used to promote tourism in India.
After visiting 2 of the 4 national parks in search of tigers I saw this sign that spoke directly to me.
At last we got a glimpse of the elusive tiger, but it was hardly worth a photo.
Behind a bush we saw a tiger paw. Wow.
Another sighting, but the tiger quickly disappeared.
We caught a quick glimpse of a tiger heading into the bush; our best viewing so far.
In the third park we discovered this tiger trying to beat the heat by lying in a small pond.
After a lot of manuevering we were able to get this closeup shot of the tiger in the pond.

We had gone on 22 half-day safaris in search of these beautiful animals only to get glimpses of them. Then on the 23rd safari we saw this beautiful female.
She walked right in front of our open-air jeep and turned to look at us, but continued down the well-trottened path.
It is estimated that only 4000 tigers remain in the wild with 2300 of them in India.
This is my favorite photo of our search for tigers.
The Indian government is doing all it can to protect this endangered animal. After giving us a glance, this beautiful animal wandered into the forest.
On our 24th and last safari in search of tigers we saw this tiger in the brush.
As she came out of the brush she snarled at us.
The tiger walked within 10 feet of our open jeep and gave us another snarl. Our hearts were pumping strongly at this moment.
And then she decided to wander off.
What a thrill to photograph this magnificent creature up close.
And so our search to photograph tigers ended in success as we catch the last glimpse of her in the woods.
