Only since 2009 has the Northwest Passage been open to tourist travel, due of course to global warming. Our trip began in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada where we boarded a charter flight to Kugluktuk, Northwest Territory. We then boarded the Sea Adventurer, a Russian-made ice reinforced ship that carried about 100 passengers. We then traveled across northern Canada following one of several famed Northwest Passages.
