Kenya-Tanzania 2012 (Julie)

These are a few of my favorite pictures taken on our African adventure to Tanzania & Kenya in 2012. Rainer and I traveled in the same safari vehicle and took thousands of the same shots; I've chosen to share just a few of the ones I liked the most.

An early morning hot air balloon trip in Kenya was one of the highlights of our trip. Following our hour-long balloon ride we were treated to a delicious outdoor champagne breakfast.

We loved the baboons. So humanlike in many ways. Every time we saw them -- both in Kenya and Tanzania -- we always wanted to stop and take more pictures.

Another male -- this time in Kenya. The guides were fantastic about finding wildlife that was oftentimes "buried" in the tall grass the same color as the animals.

We treasure many memories from this trip -- those of magnificent wildlife and interesting and fun traveling companions. But none rank higher than the experience of visiting a Masai Village and meeting the colorful, proud, semi-nomadic cattle-rearing people. Rainer's gallery tells much of the story of our visit...but I like this picture because it shows the ending to that story -- a new friendship between Rainer and Lucas, the chief's son.
