Getting ready to take off in our "hour-long rent a helicopter (and pilot!)" up to Mt. Cook, the Fox Glacier, and the Tasman Glacier. We went up about 13,000 feet to take photos through the open-door helicopter. We were tethered in very tightly, so even if our seat belts failed, the worst that could happen is that we would dangle below the copter. (Luckily we didn't have to test the harnesses to see if they really worked!) It was a great ride and we took hundreds of pictures.
